OPPORTUNITY – Made by Euromed Clusters: ANIMA launches a call for projects to promote inter-cluster cooperation and the creation of regional value chains

As part of the Euromed Clusters Forward project, ANIMA is launching a call for applications for collaborative projects to support the creation of Euro-Mediterranean value chains. The main objective of this initiative is to strengthen the economic and technological links between clusters in the Euromed region in order to stimulate innovation and improve the competitiveness of enterprises.

The launch of this call is an important step in the implementation of the Euromed Clusters Forward project, which aims to strengthen the regional economic fabric by promoting inter-cluster cooperation.

The objective of this activity is to support the creation of Euro-Mediterranean value chains. It is intended for Euromed Clusters Forward partners and affiliate partners. They are in charge of identifying relevant clusters to be involved and target sectors, and to design specific activities allowing achieve the following expected results:

• For clusters: development of a collaboration strategy and formalisation of sustainable partnerships with clusters or networks in other Euromed countries, which generate new business linkages and technology collaborations for their members.

• For cluster members: participation in collaborative projects, identification of new partners, signing of business and technology partnerships and deals, development of new products and services, access to new markets.

Up to 10 collaborative projects involving at least 3 European and South Med countries, of which at least 1 European country, will be selected and receive a co-funding covering 90% of a total budget of [50,000 – 80,000] EUR per collaborative project, with a maximum duration of 12 months and an expected start in September 2024. Partners and affiliates commit to cover the remaining 10% of the eligible costs. The latter include Human resources (i.e. Partners and affiliates staff), Travels, Per Diems, logistics, visibility of the action and technical expertise.

Euromed Clusters Forward is an initiative co-funded by the European Union to strengthen clusters in seven countries of the Southern Mediterranean, with the aim of fostering inclusive innovation and increasing competitiveness in the region. The project is implemented by a consortium of partners led by ANIMA Investment Network in France in partnership with Berytech in Lebanon, Leaders International in Palestine and the Economic Research Forum in Egypt. It is also supported by affiliated partners such as FEMISE (France), ACCIÓ (Spain), CCIFM (France), CONECT (Tunisia), INSME, Malta Enterprise (Malta), Startup Maroc (Morocco) and EBN (Belgium).
