TRAINING – MSEC-GIZ Startup Expert Programme : Group Sessions on Growth Strategy and Business Development

As part of the Mentoring and Expertise Program aimed at supporting Moroccan Startups, ANIMA recently organized two collective sessions focused on Growth Strategy and Business Development. These sessions, which took place on May 3 and 5, 2023 via videoconference, were designed to provide quality coaching to startups in their acceleration and growth phase. 

In partnership with the four Moroccan gas pedals selected in 2022, namely H7, Startup Maroc, La Startup Station and Ce3M, the program has enabled a limited number of startups to benefit from access and networking with renowned international experts;

Group session #3: Growth strategy 

Session #3 aimed to introduce key topics related to growth strategy for accelerating startups. These topics included scaling innovation, internationalization strategy, as well as 10 essential steps and tips for growing a business internationally. Participants had the opportunity to learn about these topics from international experts such as

  • Dr. Carlos Azevedo, Academic Social Innovator 
  • Hichem Redoine, Expert in management and administration of companies 
  • David Brun, Entrepreneur and coach
  • Patrick Kedziora, Founder and CEO of an educational platform 

Group session #4: Business development 

Session #4 covered key business development topics for startups, such as Go-to-Market strategy, international market intelligence, strategic pillars of business development, and practical approaches and considerations for internationalization and on-the-ground business performance;

The experts who spoke at this session were:   

  • Wafa B’chir, Co-founder of Connect’Innov 
  • Hala Nassif, President of The Rural Initiative, Consultant in e-commerce and export 
  • Maurice Mouawad, Digital Transformation and Management Consultant 
  • David Brun, Entrepreneur and coach  

Strengthen the growth potential of Moroccan startups 

These collective sessions framed by Aurélien Baudoin, director network and development and Sacha Huss, network and training assistant enabled Moroccan startups to benefit from valuable support from international experts, thereby strengthening their potential for growth and expansion on the global market.  

This initiative, supported by the Moroccan Ministry of Economy and Finance and the GIZ Morocco in partnership with the Federation of the Startup Ecosystem of Morocco, is implemented by ANIMA Investment Network.
