The study “Promoting innovation in the Mediterranean” was the result of fieldwork, a study of existing programs and various workshops bringing together public and private innovation actors. It has made it possible to take stock of the innovative ecosystems being developed in the southern Mediterranean region.
The study made an inventory of innovation support structures in Mediterranean countries (clusters, incubators, technology parks and technology transfer units). It also examined their needs in terms of connection with international actors and cooperation between them, as well as their needs in terms of services to facilitate this cooperation.
The study also identified the national innovation policies implemented in each country as well as Euro-Mediterranean cooperation programmes in research and innovation.
Through this study, 195 structures were mapped, 41 technology park projects were referenced as well as more than 90 incubators and 50 technology transfer offices.
