As part of the PROMET “Promoting Entrepreneurship” project, GIZ has commissioned ANIMA to develop and implement an expertise programme aimed at strengthening the Moroccan Startup Ecosystem Federation, MSEC, which brings together around twenty innovation players.

A call for applications was issued to the ecosystem, resulting in the selection of 5 Moroccan accelerators and the implementation of a programme to support the acceleration of 51 start-ups in various regions of Morocco, through collective and individual support on a range of topics: fund-raising – valuation, business development, sales and marketing, growth strategy, legal and regulatory affairs, HR, etc.

The programme was implemented with the support of a group of 16 international experts who worked with the startups in 6 group sessions, 1 clinics session, 1 exchange session between startups, and 1 pitch and networking session, as well as over 350 hours of individual coaching.

The programme resulted in the production of a Toolkit on the development, implementation and management of a mentoring programme for start-ups, which was passed on to the ecosystem for use in replicating this type of programme. The kit also includes a number of templates and tools for analysing the needs of start-ups, defining and identifying expertise requirements, contract agreement templates, session monitoring dashboards, and more.
