The MedValley project, developing a macro-economic and strategic approach to innovation, is one of the two components of The Next Society initiative. MedValley thus aims to develop and strengthen innovation support ecosystems in the Mediterranean in order to make them more competitive through political, regulatory and institutional support. MedValley’s activities focus on networking, promotion and the creation of national strategies in favour of innovation.
The MedValley project has established a mapping of 500 innovation actors and domains in the targeted territories, allowing better coordination of the initiatives of the institutional actors. The project thus enabled public and private actors to advocate for the identification of constraints to innovation and the strengthening of the competitiveness of their respective ecosystems. MedValley has enabled the definition and implementation of national roadmaps aimed at improving the innovation support strategies of each target territory.
In order to bridge the gap between academia and industry, the project also supports the development of technology transfer offices (TTOs) in the targeted territories, accompanying them in improving their services, marketing their innovation portfolio and meeting potential clients.
