The East Invest project aimed at promoting and developing business relations, investments, business partnerships and economic cooperation between European countries, Turkey and the six Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
It has helped to establish and consolidate SME support networks both in the Eastern Partnership countries and in the EU countries. Twinning arrangements between SMEs from EaP countries and the EU have been organised. Technical assistance was provided to SMEs, business facilitators and public sector organisations in the EaP countries to build the capacity of different stakeholders and ensure a sustainable impact of the project.
In order to strengthen partnerships between SMEs in the EU and EaP countries, ANIMA carried out business intelligence activities aimed at presenting business opportunities in the region and identifying priority sectors to boost exports in each of the EaP countries. Six country studies have also been carried out by ANIMA on economic opportunities and investment strategies in strategic sectors: agribusiness, renewable energy, information technology, tourism, transport and logistics and textiles.
