Funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Supporting and promoting sustainable scientific innovation in Tunisia (APIS) project is supported by the Tunisian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Tunisian Agricultural Research and Higher Education Institution and the Tunisian National Agency for the Promotion of Scientific Research. This program has helped to promote Tunisian scientific research and innovation by creating a bridge between science and society.

APIS has supported open research and responsible innovation in Tunisia by bringing together players in public research (researchers, laboratories), technology transfer (specialized units, technology transfer offices, incubators) and the socio-economic world (both private and public). Emphasis is also placed on developing the value of innovations resulting from research so that they meet the needs of local populations and help to achieve sustainable development objectives.

In concrete terms, APIS has enabled the launch of 15 innovative projects that effectively address major issues ranging from waste management to the protection of coastal ecosystems. These projects are developing solutions based on scientific research and are helping to create a more sustainable future.
