Four Pillars

2. PILLAR TWO : Green & sustainable transition

PILLAR ONE

Economic integration, resilience & cohesion

The Mediterranean community insists on pursuing efforts towards economic convergence by fostering multi-country collaborations. ANIMA coordinates dialogue between business support organisations and public institutions, bridges Europe–Middle East–Africa through Mashrek and North Africa connections, and advocates donors to channel more financing directly to the private sector.

PILLAR THREE

Digital transformation & artificial intelligence

Digital technologies have energised the EMEA entrepreneurial scene. Fintech, Agritech, Healthtech, Edtech — and now Industry 4.0/5.0 and AI — are disrupting production in every sector. ANIMA supports digital transition of SMEs and BSOs, raises capacities, and contributes to a Euromed Alliance on Artificial Intelligence through joint multi-country projects.

PILLAR FOUR

Innovation & R&D

Moving the South Mediterranean private sector upmarket is key for developing regional value chains and responding to the competitiveness demands of European importers and foreign investors. ANIMA identifies and promotes start-ups, reinforces clusters, and facilitates collaboration between researchers and the private sector to foster the financing of innovation.
