Business Networking, Solutions for boosting economic trade in the Mediterranean

The Mediterranean Forum, organised at the initiative of the President of the French Republic, comes at a time when the health crisis seems to be dragging on. Several countries are experiencing a 5th wave and are once again forced to implement restrictions.

Whatever the exit perspective, we see that this health crisis has accelerated several dynamics that have already been at work for several years: digitalisation, the environmental imperative, the circular economy and the shortening of value chains, technological innovation, and more broadly the organisation of global production. This dynamic should favour a greater integration of economic value chains within the Europe-Mediterranean area, and boost several new and existing sectoral sectors.

How can market demand evolve, particularly in Europe? What investments, innovations and improvements in the business environment will be needed to encourage companies to work in new regionalised value chains around the Mediterranean? What collaborations should be put in place between companies on both sides of the Mediterranean to boost economic exchanges within the Mediterranean area?

In order to work on these issues, and to bring together companies from both shores, the ANIMA network, in association with the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis, the Chamber of Commerce of Aix-Marseille-Provence and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, will mobilise companies and economic decision-makers from the Europe-Mediterranean area during a morning of Business Networking. They will rely on their partner networks Africalink, EBSOMED and Interreg Med Green Growth. After a presentation of the economic trends to come, and testimonies of business leaders operating on both shores, sectoral workshops will take place to exchange on the stakes and propose solutions to reinforce this integration dynamic.
