Paris, France

Forum annuel au Futuroscope

On Friday September 1er, the 18the edition of the Forum Prospective & Innovation will be held at the Palais des Congrés du Futuroscope on the theme ” La Gouvernance mondiale : la Grande bascule ? “. One week after the 15the BRICS summit (South Africa – August 22 to 24) and one week before the 18the G20 summit (India, September 9 and 10, 2023), putting this event at the heart of back-to-school news.

The global economic landscape is constantly evolving, shaped by profound changes and growing challenges. The Fondation Prospective & Innovation, chaired by Jean-Pierre Raffarin, plays a crucial role in bringing together enlightened minds and decision-makers to anticipate and shape the future.

In this context,,  Tarak Chérif, President of ANIMA and of the Confédération des Entreprises Citoyennes de Tunisie of Citizen Enterprises of Tunisia (CONECT) will speak on the final panel.

Context

The genesis of this Forum stems from a significant meeting in Paris between ANIMA and Jean-Pierre Raffarin, where the theme of “proximity sovereignty” was discussed. This prominent ANIMA idea focuses on the regionalization of value chains around the Mediterranean, a perspective that resonated with the foundation. ANIMA, with its aim of promoting the advantages of “nearshoring”, seeks to persuade French companies and the decision-makers present to consider North Africa as a preferred destination for subcontracting and investment, rather than Asia.

ANIMA will present three compelling arguments at the Forum to highlight North Africa’s competitive advantages:

  1. Economic competitiveness: North African countries generally boast higher productivity and lower costs than destinations such as Bangladesh, Vietnam and China in Southeast Asia.
  2. Preferred free trade agreements: Free trade agreements between Europe and North African nations offer more favorable conditions than those with Asia, strengthening the potential for economic collaboration.
  3. Skilled labor available: North Africa is home to a skilled workforce, particularly in technology sectors, offering underemployed opportunities that can be advantageous for businesses.

Fondation Prospective & Innovation

Founded in 1989 by René Monory and François Dalle, in the wake of the emergence of the Futuroscope, the Fondation Prospective & Innovation, recognized as a public utility and chaired by Jean-Pierre Raffarin, aims to promote awareness and forward thinking on the fundamental transformations of the contemporary world, in order to enlighten French decision-makers, both private and public, to anticipate and react in full knowledge of the facts. To this end, it brings together specialists and business leaders, intellectuals and political and administrative decision-makers from a wide range of geographical, political and professional backgrounds, within appropriate working frameworks for operational proposals.

18th edition of the Forum: Global governance in question

Jean-Pierre Raffarin, will guide the discussions at three round tables, with contributions from eminent personalities.

The Forum’s discussions and debates will feed into the Foundation’s annual almanac, “Sheriff 2024”, to be published in the spring. This publication serves as an intellectual benchmark, nourishing minds with fresh and inspiring perspectives to tackle the challenges and opportunities of the ever-changing world.
