With an average annual growth rate of over 6%, mobile telephony is the fastest growing sector in Africa. Beyond the development of the use of new technologies, it is a real digital revolution that is taking place on the continent around ICTs (information and communication technologies), with many specific features: privileged use of smartphones, a system of reverse innovation (innovations first produced in Africa for the local market before being disseminated globally), a driving force for rapid development thanks to a process of catching up etc. The size of the African market, the possibilities it offers in terms of innovation, the role it plays in this field are all comparative advantages that allow us to affirm that Africa has opportunities to make a place for itself on the international scene and to become a real driver of global digital innovation. What is the place of the continent in this sector and what will be the opportunities of tomorrow to be seized, in order to experience a true internationalisation in these fields?
