MedGeneration – Mobilization of economic diasporas for the development of Mediterranean countries

The MedGeneration project aimed to strengthen the engagement of the economic diaspora of the three Mashreq countries in favour of the economic development of their home countries.

The actions carried out have enabled representatives of the economic diaspora and of the Jordanian, Lebanese and Palestinian governments to dialogue and share their views on the conditions necessary for a stronger mobilisation of the diasporas in the service of the economic development of the Mediterranean territories. MedGeneration thus intended to encourage productive investment and strengthen the entrepreneurial fabric in Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine, through activities in support of investment projects, transfer of innovation, training and coaching, and personalised support.

In this respect, to identify and mobilize the talents of the diaspora, study trips and B2B business meetings have been organized. The mobilization of entrepreneurs and investors from the diaspora has made it possible to support the internationalization of young entrepreneurs from the territories of origin and to foster the creation of transnational business links between the territory of residence of the diaspora and the country of origin. Diaspora talents also provided one-year mentoring to local entrepreneurs.
