About

Euromed Clusters Forward is co-funded by the european Union up to 90% for a global amount of EUR 7.8 million budget, and led by ANIMA until 2026 with the aim of strengthening clusters and their members in 7 Southern Mediterranean countries, promoting inclusive innovation and competitiveness in the euromed region in order to improve growth, economic diversification, sustainable development and employment.

The economic landscape of Europe and the southern Mediterranean region has undergone significant transformations, presenting both challenges and opportunities.

Collaboration between the two shores of the Mediterranean opens the door to closer alliances between these markets, fostering the regionalization of value chains and promoting sustainable and inclusive development.

In this context, clusters play a crucial role in driving innovation, enhancing the competitiveness of SMEs, and contributing to sectoral transformation, thereby improving Mediterranean economies.

Euromed Clusters Forward project is 90% funded by the European Union and is led by ANIMA, with three operational partners and nine affiliated partners from the Euro-Mediterranean region.

Project objectives

A regional program for an innovative and competitive Mediterranean region:

FOSTERING

the regulatory frameworks of clusters and collaboration between EU and the Southern Neighbourhood region clusters to support the development and competitiveness of member businesses.

STENGTHENING

the capacities of cluster organizations to develop forward-looking strategies and provide quality services to their members, increasing their business performance, innovation capacity and job creation.

ACTIVATING

Euromed value chains by promoting forward-looking sectoral visions and supporting the creation of alliances of EU and Southern Mediterranean clusters in key regional value chains.

The health crisis, the quest for sovereignty and the climate imperative are all factors that today justify a shift in European demand towards a more local production. The Mediterranean basin can be the location for this production, and shortening supply chains will have a positive impact on the environment.

The high productivity and competitiveness of the countries of the south, the technological revolution underway in industry and existing trade agreements are all favourable factors. Much remains to be done to activate these new regional value chains: to identify precisely the synergies of today and tomorrow, to connect supply and demand, and to remove regulatory barriers…
