ANIMA is organizing the “Innovations for the Planet” forum from July 10th to 12th, 2023, in partnership with Invest Cyprus and with the support of the European Union. The work of the Forum will be capitalized in the EUROMED iHOUSE action plan, a new service platform created by ANIMA and Invest Cyprus in Nicosia to support innovation and the green transition of Euromed economic players.

Climate challenges in the Mediterranean and the need for collective action

The climate change prospects provided by the IPCC reports are a wake-up call for Mediterranean countries. This situation has direct consequences on the population, as well as on companies, which must implement resilience strategies in their business models and organizations. Indeed, the Mediterranean region, and Cyprus in particular, will be one of the most critical areas in the world to deal with the consequences of the climate crisis: violent climatic events, increased warming, floods, shortage of certain resources, etc. While changes at the political and regulatory level are necessary, they must be accompanied and complemented by concrete and effective tools for companies and civil society organisations.

Companies and business support organizations have a responsibility to assume in this transition: raise awareness of the challenges ahead and develop services to support these companies towards greater resilience and adaptation, as well as to minimize their ecological impact in the short term.

ANIMA is organizing the “Innovations for the Planet” forum in Cyprus (July 10-12), which aims to mobilize Euromed economic players to move forward on a common innovation and transition program for companies in their countries.

The Annual ANIMA Forum ” Innovations for the Planet “.

in this respect, ANIMA is organizing the “Innovations for the Planet” forum in Cyprus (July 10-12), which aims to mobilize Euromed economic players to move forward on a common innovation and transition program for companies in their countries.

Organized by ANIMA Investment Network in partnership with Invest Cyprus, with the support of the European Union, it will bring together 150 leaders, CEOs and managers from 22 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa: public decision-makers and international organisations, business support organizations, business networks, investment promotion organizations, innovation ecosystems (clusters, accelerators, incubators), experts and researchers, companies and investors, start-ups, etc.

The objectives are multiple:

  • Understanding the challenges of the planet and their impact on companies;
  • Networking and collaborating with peers and Euromed partners on common roadmaps to support businesses;
  • Contributing to future policies (workshops with economists and experts on supporting effective industrial and cluster policies, organizing fruitful public-private dialogue);
  • Collaborating in the programming of the EUROMED iHOUSE (Participating in the Euromed innovation hub for the climate: designing solutions and services at the service of Euromed companies)

EUROMED iHOUSE, a hub to support innovation and the green transition of economic operators in the Euro-Mediterranean zone

The Forum will also be the occasion for the launch of EUROMED iHOUSE in Cyprus, which aims to support the implementation of these roadmaps and provide a place for collaboration between Euromed countries to support innovation in the face of the challenges confronting the Euro-Mediterranean countries.

Promoted by Invest Cyprus and ANIMA Investment Network with the support of the Cypriot authorities, EUROMED iHOUSE will offer a place and a platform of services aimed at supporting innovative companies, facilitating technology transfer and research-business links, offering cooperation opportunities internationally between the business and innovation ecosystems of the countries of the Euromed zone.
